Philly’s Septa Pass Perks

By Mya K. Douglas

Even with all the strike issues that the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, SEPTA, has had over the years, they still manage to find a way to keep their customers riding. Comfortable seats on the regional rail, El trains running every six minutes, and nobody could forget that old fashioned bus that manages to be on time–-for the most part. Now, SEPTA is offering their riders even better perks. All those lovely Philadelphians who ride SEPTA on a regular basis and purchase a weekly or monthly pass can now enjoy discounts at many restaurants, spas, museums, and other hot spots.

To enjoy these perks, customers who have a pass simply show it at any of the participating locations. The $80 monthly pass will come in handy even while shopping or dining. Some of the businesses that SEPTA has partnered with include: The Please Touch Museum, Winnie’s Le Bus Manayunk, Caputo’s Pizzeria, and several others. The discounts for many of the participators range from 10-20%, as well as free items.

Below are just six of the participators who are making their specials worth an extra ride on the bus:

·The Please Touch Museum is offering riders $1.50 off of up to four tickets. Although ticket prices can reach $23 for adults, any discount is better than no discount and the Please Touch museum is still one of the most loved by family members, both young and old.

·The Pear Tree home décor and gifts shop is offering 10% off of any single item. Located in Manayunk, this shop has everything from wedding gifts to home pieces.

·For riders looking to enjoy an overnight stay should try the Pennsbury Inn, located on Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford, PA. A very comfortable, historical, bed and breakfast inn, they are offering 20% off an overnight stay, excluding Saturdays.

·Tru Site Optical, an eyeglass store located in downtown Philly on Chestnut Street, offers 10% off an entire purchase.

·Those looking for a new place to work out should try the Pilates Garden and Personal Training Studio, located in Wayne, PA. Show a SEPTA pass and receive a free consultation and one free session.

·When it’s time to relax and get some bodily treatment, try Ends Hair Designs and Spa located in Northern Liberties. Receive 20% off all Salon services. Services include facials, massages, hair care and skin care.

SEPTA has finally managed to find a way to get their customers full attention with something other than a month-long strike. For more discounts and to locate all participators, visit www.septapassperks.org.
