Walk down the stairs of 100 St. Marks Place and enter into a magnificent world of dumplings, which unfortunately does not include a soy sauce river…lay off the Wonka Bars. Staying true to his name, the man behind the counter painstakingly prepares the dough-filled pods of goodness, and is serious about his stuff. Lucas Lin, the Dumpling Man himself, has set up a café dedicated to the popular Asian dish; however this is not the average pouched digestible. More accurately, these are made to order dumplings that are carefully crafted right in front of your drooling gyoza hole.

With varieties including pork, shrimp, veggie and chicken, these handmade creations are fresh, filling and friendly on your wallet, ranging from 80 cents to 99 cents per dumpling- order in bulk for an even better deal.

While offering delivery and carry out as an option, customers can also sit in the cozy café and enjoy a miso soup (1.75) while el Hombre Dumpling works his magic. Before these tasty comestibles are consumed, be sure to dabble with the special sauces that the Dumpling Man has to offer including spicy and sweet. Indulge your sweet tooth with a homemade Golden Coin filled with native Asian fruits like goji berry; a dumpling-like dessert almost as sweet as the friendly Asian man preparing it.

The dumplings are not only cheap, but freshly made and even vegan friendly as the dough is made with just water and flour. The Dumpling Man takes as much pride in his work as you do stuffing your face with it, and offers affordable meals that can be mixed and matched to please any dumpling fan. On the streets of St. Marks Place where food options are endless, Dumpling Man is a must grub.
