Black Forest Cupcakes

Not only are they super cheap to make (all ingredients will cost around $15 or less), but also idiot-proof to bake!

You will need:

-1 box of Devils food cake mix
-eggs, oil, water (as directed on box)
-1 can of cherry pie filling
-1 can of cream cheese icing (or you can make your own with 1 bar of cream cheese),
-1 stick of butter,
-3-4 cups of powdered sugar and a hand mixer!

Directions:

-Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

-Prepare cake batter according to the directions on the box.

-Pour batter into cupcake pan only filling each about halfway.

-Use a tablespoon to place 2-3 cherries (and some of the syrup!) into the center of each half-filled cupcake.

-Spoon more cake batter to completely cover the cherries and to make each cupcake about 2/3 full.

-Bake 17-22 minutes.

-Let cool, frost with cream cheese icing. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can mix some pie filling into your frosting for additional cherry flavor (or sprinkle the cupcakes with chopped dark chocolate) and enjoy!

Because of the cherry filling, the cupcakes always come out moist and the cherries in the middle are a pleasant surprise.   Whether it be cocktail or dinner parties, birthdays, Valentines—they are great for every occasion!
