Ever the scavenger for a great deal, I couldn’t resist trying to find out what deals will be offered on Black Friday 2009. One of my favorite shopping days of the year, I love it when the ads are leaked early so I can figure out where it’s worth standing in line and where I wouldn’t go if my life depended on it.
In case you don’t already know this, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and the day that major retailers around the country discount products to help kick off the Christmas shopping season. It is followed quickly by Cyber Monday when the online deals start. Black Friday ads are usually kept secret until you receive the circulars in your Thanksgiving Day newspaper but there are always little birdies out there ready to sing early about the bargains you will find.
Two websites are already making predictions and even spilling the details. If you are really determined to get the best bargains this season you should bookmark theblackfriday.com and Black-Friday.net.
So far only Harbor Freight (tools and hardware), and Half Price Books (books, records and magazines) have published their ads. For HPB, the first 100 customers get a $5 coupon or you can get a free $5 coupon with a $25 gift card. At Harbor Freight, well I have no idea if those tools are cheap but if you are into that, take a look.
Other predictions for high price slashing involve, laptops , netbooks and PC as low as $129, Home Theaters, monitors and Mac stuff, GPS, digital picture Frames, camcorders and video games.
On Cyber Monday, and probably all the way through to Christmas, you can expect to see free shipping deals, paypal discounts, and really good specials at high end retailers.
