DC’s Rocket Bar  – Home of the $3 PBR

Rocket Bar is a mutt, a cheap lovable mutt.  Its unique mix of pool, darts, shuffleboard, skee-ball, arcade games, and board games draws a diverse crowd.  On the same night a petite blonde told me she was a World of Warcraft level-74 something, the cast of the Real World was there.

Rocket Bar does not have daily or happy hour specials, but instead opts for fixed prices all night long, everyday.  Rail drinks and house wine are $5, a Miller or Bud is $4.

My standard fare is the $3 PBR can.  Always nice and cold, the can makes it feel like home.

A few things to know: there is no kitchen, but they allow you to bring in food and California Tortilla delivers.  Darts and board games are a dollar.  Playing pool or shuffleboard is not so kind on the pocketbook, $20 per hour for 4 people on the weekend.  Finally, finding the place is a bit tricky when you are a few deep.
